LAPLAN CHING CHING, the daughter of a government official LAPLAN KANG, goes to a temple at Nanping County to make a wish under the wishing tree on a special memorial day. CHING throws a wishing plate but CHAN MUNG KAT knocks it down accidentally. KAT is a good-for-nothing man who idles around in town and he teases CHING for wishing to get married secretly.
