La historia del juego original se desarrolla en un futuro no muy lejano. Cinco “Puntos negros” aparecieron de repente en todo el mundo como portales a mundos paralelos. Inmediatamente después, extrañas criaturas comenzaron su invasión desde estos portales. Estas criaturas son los habitantes de los cinco mundos, los mismos mundos en diferentes marcos temporales. Con el fin de garantizar que su propio marco de tiempo futuro sobreviva, cada una de las cinco invasiones se ve obligada a luchar para eliminar los otros marcos de tiempo futuros. La clave es un dispositivo con forma de tarjeta.
